Thin privilege is not having people say you’re carrying ‘extra’ weight, like your ‘real’ body is a thin body wearing a coat made of fat or something.

thisisthinprivilege:

A fat body IS a body. The weight on it isn’t ‘extra,’ it’s a part of the body.

This disassociation of a body with its fat has to stop. It frames fat people as broken thin people, as semi-people who will someday become real people once they shed that horrid ‘extra’ weight like caterpillars turning into butterflies.

It’s gross. Stop it.
